Is it art?

The interesting thing about art is that its definition is changeable for everyone.

Art is the creative projection of thoughts, feelings, desires, and imagination. This creativity is a way of communicating with people, history, culture, and society. For me, especially art is the shortest way to contribute to self-development. Because art presents digested information. An artist reveals a point that has not been noticed before. It touches you and makes you notice. But, I wonder do you like art? Let me fix my question… Which type of art interests you most?

In fact, there is a huge argument still going on out there about traditional art or modern art. A few months ago, I talked to my friends about this topic. They preferred paintings, in short, traditional ones to modern ones. They disagreed with the idea that modern art could be real art. But after that, I noticed this reason was they didn’t know any information about modern art, although they still draw and sketch something.

It’s even clearer if you look at performance art. You can find the artist ironing on the street in the middle of the night, or walking around with an ice floe or jumping rope or dancing or in any situation… It seems a bit silly at first glance. But what if I told you that the ironing artist is a woman and that she questions her responsibilities in housework as a woman, and that’s why she irons in the middle of the night in the street… That makes sense, right?

Moreover, what if I told you that performance art is actually revealed by the discovery of the bodies of artists who had to leave their studios? Many wars took place in the 1900s. At this time many artists had to emigrate and could not bring their studios or art tools with them. After a while, they realized that the only tool they had was their bodies…

Today, we see many kinds of art like performance art such as installation, land art, street music, graffiti, etc. Each of these types of art has its own story. They make you think, they open a new door, and sometimes it makes you feel like a fool but they all change you in the end. That’s why I love these types of art.

And yes, they are just as much as art like paintings.
